USA TODAY Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson have called it quits. The 33-year-old singer and sister to Beyoncé announced she and the 56-year-old music video director she married in Nov. 2014, have "separated and parted ways." On Instagram Friday, Knowles wrote that "the past 2 years have brought me more physical and spiritual transition and evolution than ever before...my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still. within that stillness i begin my journey in confronting my worst enemy, fear." Knowles said she's "lived (her) best and worst moments in front of the lens and gaze of the world" since adolescence. "ive always tried to live in my truth no matter how ugly or full of love it is," she added. "ive also tried to carve out the space to protect my heart, and my life as it unfolds, evolves, and changes." Knowles then disclosed she and Ferguson have split. "11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways," she wrote. "i find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do. it is unfair to not have power of your own story as you shape and mold and rewrite it yourself. 'When I Get Home': Solange's new album is one of 2019's best releases yet Knowles said she's "leaning into the fear of the unknown." "may all of your transitions no matter how big or small, be kind to you and filled with incredible love and light!" she capped off her post. She posted three photos of herself with a long caption, writing: ive always tried to live in my truth no matter how ugly or full of love it is. ive also tried to carve out the space to protect my heart, and my life as it unfolds, evolves, and changes. 11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways, (and tho it ain't nan no body business 😭) i find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do. it is unfair to not have power of your own story as you shape and mold and rewrite it yourself. a nigga ain't perfect, but im leaning into the fear of the unknown and all the glory and power i know exist within god and the universes grace. may all of your transitions no matter how big or small, be kind to you and filled with incredible love and light! | Beyoncé requests ‘normal people’ for London video shoot - TheGrio Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:08 AM PDT  Beyoncé is set to revisit her The Lion King: The Gift album with a music video for "Brown Skin Girl," which is being filmed on various south London estates. The album was released this past summer, but now the song will be treated as a single, according to the Daily Mail. Filming is taking place in both Catford and Thamesmead, along with members of the superstar's team being seen near the HM Prison Thameside on Thursday. READ MORE: Beyoncé and 'The Lion King' cast reign at North America opening weekend The LEMONADE singer's casting team is requesting "black and brown people of different cultures, nationalities, ethnicities, genders and ages" in London to come forward for the video. A source also detailed to the Daily Mail Beyoncé's wish to have the video "truly represent the essence of the song" and to have "normal people step forward and tell their stories" despite having name-dropped iconic figures like Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong'o in the lyrics. Additional requests for people include different family structures, citing a request for blended, single parent, queer and adopted families. The video will also have a focus on a variety of body shapes and ages. The age range is stated to be girls as young as six months all the way to elderly women. The video is set to be directed by Jean Nkiru, who worked on The Carters "APESH**T" video. "Brown Skin Girl" features Saint Jhn, Wizkid and Beyoncé's own daughter Blue Ivy Carter. "It was mostly filmed in LA and has a highly choreographed routine and also a steamy, romantic scene," the source added. "She is working with some new creatives and is ready to change things up."  |
