What they wore: A black, long-sleeved, sequined Julien Macdonald gown from his Fall 2008 collection.
How they styled it: Right from the start, Swifty set herself apart from the "Total Recall" actress by channeling a vintage vibe and styling her short bob into a Veronica Lake-esque side part with 1920s waves. She continued her Old Hollywood glamour vibe with deep red lipstick, smoky eye makeup, and Art Deco chandelier earrings. Beckinsale, 40, also opted for a smoky eye, but kept her look modern with a nude lip and scene-stealing ponytail. She amped up her luxurious look with one-of-a-kind Tacori diamond earrings.
Kate added a pop of color to her dark ensemble with an emerald-and-diamond Chopard ring and a plum manicure. The jewel tones really complemented the dress. The screen siren also carried a small black Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch. Taylor stuck with her signature color and sported a red manicure along with a ruby Lorraine Schwartz bauble. She finished off her retro attire with a boxy Emm Kuo clutch.
From behind, both women are winners. The floor-length gown showcased their svelte physiques with mesh paneling that dipped down to their lower backs and also ran along the sleeves. Simply breathtaking!
Though you can't see the footwear, Taylor paired her gown with a set of Tamara Mellon peep-toe heels with an ankle strap, while Kate stepped out in a pair of sky-high black satin pumps.
Judge's scorecard: Do we dare call this a tie? Beckinsale, who is 16 years older than her competition, earned our respect by wearing the dress first and putting a flirty and sexy spin on the sequined number. Yet we love how Swift took the ensemble in a different direction with her pin-up pout and soft waves.
