I purchased this special edition Chanel nail polish during my trip to Sydney a month ago (sorry for the delay! :( ) when it came out in time for the Chinese New Year (to check out the aftermath of my little shopping expedition, please click HERE).
The Chanel 'Hong Kong' Collection included two nail polishes. This one is called 'Eastern Light',and the other which I also purchased is 'Western Light' (deep brown with a hint of purple). They are limited and exclusive to Chanel boutiques, Chanel Makeup Studios or Chanel online store if it's available in your country. They appear to be still available, but if you're a Chanel nail polish fan like I am, you may want to hurry and pick one or both up before they're gone.

Packaging
The nail varnish is packaged in a square-shaped (with curved corners) glass bottle. The top black lacquer cap with the Chanel interlocked double C's at the top in white is purely for aesthetic purposes only. Pull this off to reveal the actual round nail varnish bottle cap (ribbed for better grip to open and close securely) that also serves as the brush applicator handle.

Colour, Finish & Formulation
- 'Eastern Light' is a soft, clean, white. (See also comparison swatch below). The slight softness of the white, makes it look sophisticated and classy, compared to other white nail polishes I've come across that can tend to look like you applied whiteout on your nails. (E.g., OPI's 'Alpine Snow' does not apply as smoothly in comparison and it appears uneven and patchy in places. I also found 'Alpine Snow' to have a thicker consistency that makes it harder to work with).
- It contains no shimmers and has a cream finish.
- The formulation of the nail polish is excellent. I don't own many white nail polishes, but this one is by far the best white polish formulation I've used. The formulation is not too thin or too thick. It applies extremely smoothly, evenly and opaque in just two coats. ^_^
- All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
On The Nails...
Applied against olive tan skin tone (~NC30). Application was in two coats. Photographs were taken indoors using a strobe.

A classic white that can be worn in any occasion. I love wearing this for summer, especially when paired with blue in an outfit. It feels very nautical and casual yet oozes class. As if I'm holidaying in the French Riviera again. *sigh* If you're looking for white nail polish with the best formulation and finish then look no further. I know I will be wearing this a lot.
