This Rouge Automatique lipstick released especially for the holiday 2013 collection comes packaged in a sleek, shiny black lacquer and paired with a bold neon orange finishing touch. (The permanent shades of Rouge Automatique are encased in gold).

COLOUR & COMPARISON SWATCHES

Applied on medium, olive, ~NC30-35 skin tone and photographed indoors using a strobe.  Reflex - a bright, warm-toned pink with a hint of coral is kinda a mix of Mac Matte lipstick in Party Parrot and Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in Vivid Rose.
PIGMENTATION, TEXTURE & FINISH

Very good pigmentation with full coverage achieved in just a couple of swipes. The texture is emollient enough to glide on smoothly and evenly on the lips and feels moisturising. It has a luminous finish.

LONGEVITY

Reflex lasted a good 3-4 hours on me before it started to show noticeable fading. It lasted very well through several sips of drinks and a light meal before I had to reapply.

SCENT

There's a fragrance consistent with all Rouge Automatique lipsticks, but it goes unnoticeable a couple of minutes after application.  Here's how Guerlain describe this fragrance:
"The light, delicate scent of a vanilla "floriental" leaves its incomparable mark on Rouge Automatique. Top notes sparkle with a lemon, orange and bergamot accord. The rose and iris heart exudes sweetness. The vanilla and tonka bean dry-down gives Rouge Automatique all of its intensity."

OVERALL

Beautiful packaging as usual by Guerlain and while perhaps not a unique shade, Reflex is a bright and happy shade that'll sure to lift any winter holiday, while also being appropriate for summer.  Love the texture, finish and wear of it too.  If you don't have a similar shade already and are a fan of Guerlain's lipsticks like I am, or are a first-timer, I highly recommend.
